Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to New Whittington Primary School!

I would like to welcome you to our happy and successful school. Everything we do is for our children, team and community. I joined NWPS in 2011, as a teacher and member of SLT. In 2019, I was appointed Headteacher. I am, and have always been, fully invested in NWPS and feel honoured to be able to lead our team and serve our community.

We joined The Learners’ Trust in 2017. This has enabled our school to develop further with an approach based on improving sustainability in all areas. The Learners’ Trust provide a caring and collaborative approach where 18 schools are one big family!

NWPS is an amazing place to work, teach and learn in, a school that I feel proud to lead. Our team make an amazing difference, everyone works exceptionally hard with drive and enthusiasm to do the best they can.

Our children enjoy attending and spending time together. They feel safe, listened to and valued. Our children follow a curriculum that is ambitious and well sequenced, using a mixture of schemes and teacher led planning to ensure the National Curriculum is delivered.

All our children learn BSL, a subject they relish and use to support their Deaf peers. Inclusivity is a real strength of NWPS. Our love for our children, community and work family is evident in all we do.
