Supporting Every Learner : SEND & Inclusion at Westfield Infant
How we support children
We believe that every child is unique, and we tailor our support to meet individual needs. We recognise that some children may need additional help with their learning, and all our staff work closely with families to understand and meet each child’s individual needs. Through tailored support, open communication and a caring approach, we ensure that every child feels valued, confident and ready to succeed. Together, we help every child take proud steps on their learning journey.
We support children with a wide range of additional needs, including:
• Communication and interaction needs
• Cognition and learning difficulties
• Social, emotional and mental health needs
• Sensory and physical needs
Identification and support
We know that early identification is key to helping children succeed. We carefully monitor the progress and development of all our pupils so that we can spot any signs that a child may need extra support as soon as possible. We believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential, and we are always here to listen, support and work together.
Our aim is always to help children become confident, independent learners. We work closely with parents and carers and when required external services to plan the right support and review progress regularly, ensuring every child has the best possible start to their education. We believe that working together gives every child the best chance to blossom.
