Pastoral & Family Support
Key Components of Our Pastoral Care Program
Our Holistic Approach to Student Well-being
At Ashgate Croft School, we are committed to providing comprehensive pastoral care that addresses the diverse needs of our students. Led by the Assistant Head for Pastoral Care, our dedicated team focuses on creating a nurturing environment where every student can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
Key Components of Our Pastoral Care Program
Positive Play Workers
Our Positive Play Workers play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. They engage with students during structured sessions, encouraging positive interactions, conflict resolution, and the development of social skills. Positive Play promotes a harmonious atmosphere where students feel supported and connected.
Early Help and Family Support Team
Our Early Help and Family Support Team is committed to providing assistance to students and their families during challenging times. Whether it’s through offering guidance on parenting strategies, connecting families with community resources, or providing emotional support, this team ensures that families have access to the help they need.
Forest Schools
We believe in the benefits of outdoor education, and our Forest Schools program allows students to connect with nature while learning valuable life skills. Students engage in hands-on activities, fostering creativity, resilience, and teamwork in an outdoor setting. Forest Schools provide a unique and enriching experience for our students.
Medical Care
The well-being of our students is of utmost importance, and our school provides comprehensive medical care accessing a range of medical professionals. Our school health officer and first aid staff are trained to handle various health needs and emergencies. We work closely with parents and external bodies to address any medical concerns and ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for all.
Pastoral Assistants Across the School
Our team of Pastoral Assistants works diligently across the school to provide individualized support to students. Whether it’s assisting with academic challenges, offering a listening ear, or providing guidance on personal development, Pastoral Assistants contribute to the overall well-being of our students.
Attachment and Trauma-Informed Care
Understanding the impact of attachment and trauma, our team approaches pastoral care with sensitivity and empathy. We prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment for students who may have experienced trauma, ensuring that their emotional needs are met with understanding and compassion. We have safe spaces in school which pupils can access with peers and staff.
