In a heartfelt effort to transform learning and make education more inclusive, Learners’ Trust has rolled out iPads to all its schools, with many now providing each student with their own device. This initiative is about so much more than just upgrading outdated technology—it’s about opening doors, creating opportunities, and giving every student a chance to succeed, regardless of their background.
For students of all abilities, these iPads have become a lifeline. With state-of-the-art accessibility features, such as voice-to-text, screen readers, and adjustable settings, the iPads are empowering students to engage with their lessons in ways that meet their unique needs. A student with a visual or hearing impairment can now independently navigate educational materials, or a child who struggles with traditional learning methods finding new ways to participate. These devices are levelling the playing field, making learning more inclusive, compassionate, and full of possibility.

Ensuring Safe and Effective Use
Behind the scenes, the Trust’s IT team has played a crucial role in ensuring this technology is both safe and effective. They have implemented advanced safeguards, blocking access to all unsafe websites within the school’s network. In addition, a monitoring system has been put in place that alerts teachers if students attempt to search for or access inappropriate or dangerous content. This creates a secure digital learning space where students can explore and learn without compromising their safety.
The IT team are also able to do all updates and management of apps remotely saving teachers time in getting the technology ready for lessons meaning technology adds to the experience rather than making things more complex.
Through this initiative, Learners’ Trust is giving students the tools to dream bigger, learn more deeply, and reach their full potential. This is more than an upgrade in technology; it’s a powerful step toward a brighter, more inclusive, future for every student.
