Mission, Vision & Culture
Our Mission: A school that ensures children are Welcoming, Helping, Progressing and Smiling
Our Mission
Our mission for the school and our pupils uses the words Walton Holymoorside Primary School to guide our vision for our pupils to be Welcoming, Helping, Progressing and Smiling.
We have developed our school vision based on what we all feel will help our children thrive as they move through the school and beyond.
We try to ensure it permeates everything we do, you will see it all over school and in our communications.
This school vision has been used to create drivers for our school of Welcoming: celebrating diversity, Helping: physical & emotional wellbeing, Progressing: independence, Smiling: communication & conflict resolution.

Our Vision
Welcoming
Welcoming relates to the idea of celebrating diversity.
We want the children to be ready for the diverse world in front of them with intrigue, curiosity and understanding.
Helping
The driver for Helping is our aim to promote physical and emotional wellbeing.
We work hard to ensure children are physically and emotionally well and that they have strategies to ensure they are as healthy in both as they can be
Progressing
To ensure each child is Progressing, we aim to help children achieve independence, developing great attitudes towards their learning and future goals.
Smiling
Our final driver is Smiling.
A happy and safe school is very important to us all and we know that to keep smiling, we need to ensure they children have excellent communication skills and skills of conflict resolution.
Our Culture
Respectful
We encourage our children to be respectful of our school, each other and – perhaps most importantly – themselves
Resilient
We encourage our children to show resilience, when they are faced with challenges
Responsible
We encourage our children to take responsibility for their learning and the choices they make
Ready
We encourage our children to be ready for the challenges they will face
We use praise, support and encouragement to ensure children can be an ‘always child’, a child who always shows the 4Rs.

At Walton Holymoorside, we aim to work in partnership with parents to achieve the best outcomes for every child and ensure that children are exceptionally well-prepared for the next stage of their education and life beyond school.
