The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided to schools to support underprivileged students, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities needed to succeed. This funding is used to enhance learning, provide extra support, and help close the attainment gap between students from lower-income backgrounds and their peers. Schools allocate these funds in various ways, such as targeted interventions, access to extracurricular activities, and additional academic support, all aimed at improving educational outcomes.
