Mission, Vision & Culture
Our Mission: Working together, challenging each other as one big family.
Our Mission
Our mission is to work together as one united family, inspiring and challenging each other to grow.
Our culture reflects the values we believe children should embrace in school, in life, and for the future.
We aim to equip our children with these guiding principles, empowering them to carry these values throughout their lives.

Our Vision
Developing Emotional Intelligence
Many of our children, especially those with additional needs, show the need for our curriculum to give them opportunity to learn how to respond to situations and manage their emotions effectively and appropriately.
Our planning, linked to our FAMILY values, creates opportunities for children to learn about feelings and emotions.
They will begin to identify feelings and emotions in stories, in others and in themselves.
We aim to give them strategies to cope with these emotions and give them strategies to help others manage their emotions.
Developing Aspirations
Hodthorpe Primary School is a small village school with very low diversity and sometimes children have low aspirations when entering school.
Our planning, linked to our FAMILY values, creates opportunities for children to experience the wider world and opportunities out there.
We strive to inform children of the opportunities out there and let them see what the wider world has to offer.
We want to let them know what qualities, skills and experiences they might need to achieve their potential.
Keeping myself, others and the community safe
Being situated in a small community, we try to involve the community in events and invite key members of the public into school, especially those who keep us safe.
Our planning, linked to our FAMILY values, creates opportunities for children to explore how to keep themselves safe in the community and in particular, online.
We give them opportunities to use devices safely in and out of school, with homework being set online.
We create opportunities to go out into the community and teach children how to keep themselves and others safe.
Our Culture
Future Aspirations
We give children educational experiences that will challenge their thinking and views.
We endeavour to give them skills to make them life-long learners. Our children will take responsibility for their actions.
They will strive to be the best they can be and have career aspirations.
Achievement
Our children concentrate and focus on their learning and achievements.
They listen well; are organised and can work independently.
Motivation
Our children are resilient and they learn from their mistakes.
We encourage children to be active and stay healthy.
They look after their own and other’s feelings to stay motivated.
Inclusion
Our children work together within school and within our wider community.
Our children are respectful of everyone and understand that everyone is equal.
We ensure everyone is safe and secure and prevent bullying.
Love
We show children how to love themselves, others, the community, our country and the world.
Our children are accepting of different cultures and religions.
Our children celebrate their history and families.
They are caring, polite and kind to everyone.
We are a welcoming, happy school where friendships flourish, memories are made, smiles are contagious and laughter is heard. We are the BEST family!
