Our Mission
At Eckington Junior School, we inspire children’s love of learning and inspire curiosity through our EXPLORE. Our school has an ethos where children are encouraged to take risks, step out of their comfort zone and believe in themselves through our BELIEVE. This enables children to ACHIEVE their full potential and be the best they can be.
Our Vision
Aspiration
We want our children to dream big and know the world is full of opportunities. Our curriculum inspires them with stories of amazing people, teaches the value of hard work, and shows them they can achieve anything.
By broadening their horizons beyond the local area, we help them build the skills and confidence to reach their potential.
Community
Our children explore Eckington and the surrounding area, gaining new and real experiences. Visits and activities build on their interests while teaching them about local people and places, fostering pride in their community. They develop skills and appreciation for their area and the wider world as they progress through school.
We create links with local businesses, care homes, churches, and schools, and celebrate individuals who’ve made an impact locally and beyond. A love of reading is encouraged in everything we do.
Equality
Equality is at the heart of our curriculum. As a small school in a less diverse community, we provide opportunities for children to learn about and celebrate diversity.
Our curriculum introduces different cultures, religions, and beliefs, encouraging discussions that build tolerance, respect, and multicultural awareness. Children explore topics like children’s rights, equal rights for women, and the people who have shaped history and the world today.
